Tori-no-Ichi is held on the days of the rooster in November, to give thanks for a safe year and pray for good fortune in the next. The fair at Ohtori Shrine in Asakusa is one of the busiest in Tokyo.

The shrine offers small lucky rakes (kumade) as charms, and stalls around it sell elaborately decorated rakes for success in business.

In 2026 there are two rooster days in November: the 7th and the 19th.
